5G FWA CPE

Fiber-fast Speeds with 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA)

HFCL’s indigenously designed and developed 5G FWA CPE empowers service providers to unlock new revenue streams through high-speed fixed broadband without the delays of trenching, permits, or red tape, built on HFCL’s own technology platform. Ideal for both dense urban rollouts and hard-to-reach regions, it’s the smarter path to 5G monetization and nationwide coverage.

5G Indoor FWA CPE (Sub-6 GHz)

Self-installable 5G Indoor CPE supports all Sub-6 GHz bands, delivers up to 1 Gbps throughput, and offers flexible deployment, ensuring seamless coverage throughout the home

5G Outdoor FWA CPE (Sub-6 GHz)

Outdoor 5G FWA CPE delivers fiber-class speeds over Sub-6 GHz with superior range and dual-carrier aggregation. With >1 Gbps throughput and n78 support, it’s a powerful last-mile solution for both home and enterprise connectivity

5G Outdoor FWA CPE (mmWave + LTE)

Outdoor 5G FWA CPE with mmWave (n258) and global LTE support delivers up to 4.8 Gbps throughput. Designed for both SA and NSA networks, it’s ideal for high-capacity residential (MDU), home, and enterprise connectivity at the last mile

5G Outdoor FWA CPE (mmWave + Sub-6 Ghz)

Outdoor 5G FWA CPE, built on 5G SA architecture, supports both mmWave (n258) and Sub-6 GHz (n78) bands. Ideal for NR-DC use cases, it enables high-speed connectivity across homes, enterprises, and multi-dwelling units (MDUs) at the last mile

FAQs

How does a FWA CPE device work?

A Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) CPE connects homes or businesses to the internet by wirelessly linking to a nearby 4G or 5G base station. Instead of relying on underground cables, it captures the wireless signal, converts it into a broadband connection, and distributes it through Wi-Fi or LAN to multiple devices. Acting as the gateway between the mobile network and end users, it delivers fiber-like performance with faster deployment and minimal installation effort—making it ideal for both urban expansions and remote connectivity.

What is mmWave and how does it impact 5G FWA performance?

mmWave, or millimeter wave, is a high-frequency spectrum used in 5G networks to provide extremely fast internet speeds and very low latency. In Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), mmWave allows the CPE device to deliver broadband performance close to fiber, supporting high-demand applications like HD streaming, online gaming, video conferencing, and enterprise connectivity. However, mmWave signals have shorter range and limited ability to penetrate obstacles such as walls, trees, or buildings. This means the FWA CPE must be strategically placed, often outdoors or near a direct line of sight to the base station, to ensure consistent performance. Despite these limitations, mmWave is ideal for dense urban areas or locations where ultra-high-speed connectivity is required, making it a key technology for 5G FWA deployment.

What’s the Difference Between Indoor CPE and Outdoor CPE?

Indoor and outdoor CPEs both deliver high-speed internet but differ in setup and purpose. Indoor CPEs are compact, plug-and-play devices ideal for homes or offices with strong network coverage, offering quick and easy installation like a standard Wi-Fi router. Outdoor CPEs, however, are mounted on rooftops or walls to capture stronger signals from distant towers, making them perfect for low-signal or remote areas. Built to withstand weather conditions, they deliver reliable, high-speed connectivity even in challenging environments.
