European OFC market projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.5% over the next five years. Expected demand for OFC to reach 90 million fkm per annum by 2028 in Europe. FTTH council estimates around 308 million homes in the EU region to have FTTH connectivity by 2028. Deployment of FTTH networks expected to accelerate by 3-5 years, leading to increased OFC demand.
To cater to the increased demand HFCL has planned the strategic expansion by opening a manufacturing plant with the capacity set at 3.25 million fkm, scalable up to 7 million fkm. Initial capital outlay of up to INR 144 crore dedicated to fulfilling the increasing OFC demand.
With the manufacturing facility being in Europe the transit times expected to reduce by approximately six weeks, enhancing operational agility
